Qualifications include: Materials professionals with broad experience in ASM, business, and management; experi- ence with ASM committees and ASM chapter work; managerial experience (budgets and policy making) is most desirable; is an individ- ual or chapter sustaining ASM member; under- stands the duties and responsibilities required and is willing to serve if elected; understands ASM's strategy and objectives; has knowledge of the field of materials and information tech- nology. Passek stepped down as managing director of ASM International to pursue other op- portunities after 27 years with the So- ciety. Passek will continue in a consult- ing capacity with ASM through June. "The Board of Trustees, staff, volun- teers, and members all wish Thom well and thank him for his dedication and service," said ASM President Sunniva Collins, FASM. Terry F. Mosier, director of finance, will serve as interim managing director. Mosier earned a B.S. degree in industrial engineering from Marietta College and an M.B.A. with a concentration in finance and information systems from Case Western Reserve University. Since graduation, he has worked as a financial analyst, controller, and chief financial officer for Millennium Inorganic Chemicals, Nestlé, Metal Foils LLC, DCS, and Pentair.
