i T S S e Nominations Sought for ASM Thermal Spray Society Board The ASM TSS Nominating Committee is currently seeking nominations to fill two Board Member positions. The Nominating Committee is particularly seeking nominees for vice president and one director from all segments of the thermal spray community. Nominees must be a member of the ASM Thermal Spray Society and must be endorsed by five TSS members. Board members whose terms are expiring may be eligible for nomination and possible re-election on an equal basis with any other nominee. Nominations must be received no later than March 1, 2014. Students must be a registered undergraduate or graduate during the 2014-2015 academic year and must be studying or involved in research in an area closely related to the field of thermal spray technology. For more information on the eligibility and benefits of being a Student Board Member, visit New Accepted Practice on TS Coating Bond Testing The Thermal Spray Society (TSS) Accepted Practices Committee on Metallography and Mechanical Testing prepared an Accepted Practice for Thermal Spray Coating Bond (Adhesion) Testing. The document defines and highlights critical aspects for representative and reproducible test results based on ASTM C 633 and applicable industry standards. The Accepted Practices Committee, chaired by Tetyana Shmyreva of RollsRoyce, is comprised of an international team of scientists and engineers from academia and industry.
